But many of the older priests, Levites, and other leaders who had seen the first Temple wept aloud when they saw the new Temple’s foundation. The others, however, were shouting for joy. The joyful shouting and weeping mingled together in a loud noise that could be heard far in the distance.
Ezra 3:12-13

Hi, Pritam here. This space here is to host a work portfolio and a blog. Please get in touch if either of these are of interest to you. My social-links are available at the footer of this page.

On the vocation front, the area of my primary interest is the theory of matrices and its plentiful connection to several corners of mathematics and computer science. I have been fortunate to be trained by Prof. Rajendra Bhatia during my undergrad and PG Diploma at Ashoka University. In my final year I wrote a thesis on inequalities related to the Cartesian decomposition of matrices.

More recently, I have worked at Microsoft Research and Mphasis. At Microsoft I’ve worked on smoothed analysis of algorithms appearing in Unsupervised Learning, and on the gradient flow of Machine Learning architectures. At Mphasis, I have studied and reviewed the state-of-the-art lattice based signature schemes with a focus on Falcon. Underneath these projects there has often been a curious problem of a matrix flavor. Please refer to my resume for further information.

I consider myself a perpetual student of Mathematics and its neighbors. I look forward to relishing newer and deeper structures and make meaningful contribution in theory and practice. I will document portions of my work and my study in this blog.

I am grateful to the Lord for putting in my heart a love for much under the sun, and ultimately, I am most grateful for His grace displayed in my desire to love Him - the Highest and the Best. This is redemptive as the monk Zosima in The Brothers Karamazov truthfully contemplates:

Fathers and teachers, I ponder, "What is hell?" I maintain that it is the suffering of being unable to love.

I share a brief account of a part of my journey of coming to Christ here. He compels me to participate in life and enjoy unto His glory its offerings, some of which I shall document in this blog.

Most posts so far fall in one of the two major categories:

Apart from these I will also curate lists of resources for various applications.
